The Marshall McLuhan Speaks Special Collection website is typeset using ATF Alternative Gothic, a gothic sans serif typeface originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1903 for the American Type Founders Company. It is one of many type families that can be found in early editions of books by McLuhan. It is accompanied by Shift, a slab-serif inspired design by Jeremy Mickel in 2012 which introduces a light, modern personality.
